Clear answers before you reach out.
A simple guide to Green Creek’s Labrador program, puppy process, health testing, and buyer expectations.
Where is Green Creek Labradors located?
Green Creek Labradors is based in Bound Brook, New Jersey, serving families and hunters across the Mid-Atlantic region. We also are willing to ship puppies with a reliable shipping service of your choice or deliver your puppy to an airport if you decide to travel for pickup.
What kind of Labradors does Green Creek breed?
Green Creek focuses on pointing labradors bred for field and the home: dogs with hunting drive, trainability, and enough off switch to live comfortably in the home.
What colors are expected?
Our current program focus is black and chocolate Labradors. Expected colors may vary by litter and should be confirmed on the “Upcoming Litters” page.
Are the puppies registered?
Yes. Green Creek puppies are registered with both the AKC (breed registry) and the UKC (performance registry for hunt tests).
What health testing is done?
Breeding dogs all have OFA clearances for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart, plus a full genetic panel with Orivet (new owner of Paw Print Genetics) or similar genetic testing organization. Links to each dogs testing results are posted on the “Our Labradors” page.
Is there a health guarantee?
Yes. Green Creek provides a 2 year guarantee for genetic abnormalities.
How does puppy selection work?
We use breeder guided matching. Buyer preferences and deposit order are considered, but the final goal is matching the right puppy with the right home based on temperament, lifestyle, and goals.
When are puppies matched and sent home?
Puppies are typically matched and go home around 7 to 8 weeks, once temperament and fit can be better evaluated.
Do buyers need to hunt?
No. Green Creek can place puppies in non-hunting homes when the home is active, structured, and prepared for a field-bred Labrador. We especially value homes that will train, include, and exercise the dog well.
What kind of hunting homes are a good fit?
Homes interested in upland, waterfowl, retrieving, or consistent outdoor work are a strong fit, especially if they plan to hunt or train the dog multiple times per year.
Is a fenced yard required?
No. A fenced yard is not required, but buyers should have an honest plan for exercise, training, safety, and structure.
Are first time Labrador owners considered?
Yes. First time owners can be considered when they are realistic about training, activity level, and the needs of a field bred Labrador.
What does a puppy go home with?
Puppies go home with vaccinations, deworming, microchip, vet check, health record, registration paperwork, feeding instructions, first-week guidance, and lifetime breeder support.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is 10%. It is refundable with conditions that should be clearly stated in the final buyer agreement.
What payment methods are accepted?
Green Creek accepts Venmo, cash, and check.
How do I start?
Start by contacting Green Creek. We can then follow up about fit, litter timing, availability, and next steps.
Still deciding?
The best Green Creek home wants a Labrador that can be part of the family and still has a real outlet for activity, training, retrieving, or hunting.
